Adventures, Adventures!

I am so sorry for the delay between posted!! It has been a crazy busy few months with not so reliable internet. I have lots to tell everyone and lots of pictures so enjoy the in depth post!

I just turned in my veterinary school application this past week, this has taken priority over blogging the last couple months. It feels so good to have that all done and turned in. I will find out if I get accepted or not in late December.

I left off saying I had very exciting news happening the week after my last post. I was invited to the release of the orphan moose calves in Cordova, AK!!  Not only did I get to help with whole process of traveling and tagging the moose, but I was able to see a whole new part of this state and travel on a ferry across the Prince William Sound!  This entire experience was also filmed for an episode on National Geographic! Sometime in November you can see me and the whole experience on Dr. Oakley Yukon Vet TV show! I will let everyone know once I know the exact date.

Ferry ride!

I wish I caught these, next summer definitely going halibut fishing!

Sadly, saw a lot of boats over grown

Property of Moose Mamas: Sutton and Ahtna were both released in perfect health and went straight to the food and water! such a happy moment!

Property of Moose Mamas: Handmade crate to fit each girl comfortably, they were transported without being medicated which is safer for them.

I was able to do lots of hikes with friends on my few days off which was a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of those hikes:

Awesome rugby team out here! Had so much fun playing this season!

As my summer obligations came to and end, rugby, Deshka Landing, and Moose Mamas I finished my studying for the GRE exam which am happy to say I improved on once again!  I then was able to help with a research project at Martin Buser's kennel with Dr. Davis. This was such an awesome experience being able to work and observe Dr. Davis who I've been following his research on sled dogs for years now!
I was also blessed with the chance to spend a week with my sister and her husband. We went camping and hiking in Denali National Park, hiking in Hatcher's Pass and Nancy Lake State Park, went to the state fair, and down to Seward. In Seward Alaska we went fishing for salmon saw the Alaska Sea Life Center, and took a glacier tour.  Here are a bunch of photos from that amazing week. We saw beluga whales, Dall porpoises, mountain goats, otters, humpback whales, orcas, bull moose, and puffins. It was incredible!

We climbed a good amount up this until the wind and rain came in.

All packed up and ready to head out after getting snowed on our last night camping in Denali

We have been staying busy with fall chores and training.  I went up to Fairbanks to visit the campus and meet with some admission directors about the program. The campus is beautiful and I am excited to find out if I get accepted or not!!
